Were I a cynical sort of person, I might suggest that the only thing which changes as you move through the education system is that the coffee gets more expensive. SIXTY DAMNED PENCE.

But, as compared to 25p at Handsworth and 35p at Cadbury, it's still more expensive. Plus, it's ordinary filter coffee, which while it tastes slightly nicer than machine-cappuccino, doesn't seem to have the bizarre hypercaffeinated quality of the latter, and did almost nothing towards raising me from my midmorning stupor.

gets worse at uni. they've decided that as students have no money they should charge ridiculous amounts. although last year someone set the psych coffee machine to free vend somehow so everyone took advantage of that until the uni realised they were losing money from the common room and fixed it, annoyingly.

Actually, is that canteen coffee or machine coffee? Cos if machine, even leisure centres're cheaper than that.
